In early 2015, we wrote a small blog piece on the impacts the Texas machining business was experiencing due to plummeting oil prices. Subsequently there were thousands of oil workers laid off and many industries took hits with some of them even going out of business. Fast forward to September 2018 and business seems to be improving. We have seen several machine shops that are hiring and oil prices have been climbing. Are we out of the woods? Will this rebound stick? There is a lot to rebound in order to get back to where we were but one would think we are headed in the right direction.
